Welcome to JourneyRock UK

This website was initially created as a petition to encourage the UK promoters to bring Journey to the UK and Europe. Given that the band toured the UK in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, it was decided that UK and European fans might want to continue with the friendships forged through this site. We are crossing our fingers for another extensive UK/Euro tour this year.

Departure at Rawmarsh Reviews

Andrea & Alex on stage

Cathy's review.

It was a hot spring evening – so everyone was in a good mood and looking forward to the gig. Downside there was some European football final on the box so odds on there would not be a big crowd at the club.
We had about a one hour journey to get to the club
Not a bad venue, parking was good, quite an important feature as there is nothing more frustrating than finding the venue on to discover the parking is insufficient and you have to park on road and walk back to the club. The stage looked a little shallow when all the bands gear, pa and lighting was placed up there. We had convinced our friends Sue and Marty Moffatt to join us at the gig; they travelled all the way from Swindon, Wiltshire. Also Sue from Hartlepool and Jen from Morecambe. As predicted the club was approx two thirds full. Our friends Steve and Dri came up from Lincoln. It’s great to meet up with friends and listen to good music.
The bands started up with Separate Ways I sneaked a looked over at Sue and Jen and their jaws dropped open. Jen mouthed “Oh my god!” Sue was grinning widely.
We took a video camera and convinced Marty to get some footage of a few songs. Bless him he gave it a whirl not bad considering he is a digital photographer but not video. Hopefully we will get it downloaded so you can judge for yourselves how much this band has improved over the three gigs we have been to.
They are definitely more comfortable on stage; Andrea is gaining in confidence and was even cool when Alex had a guitar lead crisis. Their whole performance is unrecognizable from that first gig the music is stonkingly good but then I’m prejudice. But it is the self belief that comes across in the set, they obviously enjoy playing Journey music, the on stage camaraderie is relaxed and self assured. They joke and laugh and now have started to confidently interact with the audience. Andrea looks to catch the eye of individuals in the audience (usually the ladies ) and sings to them, smiling and pointing to them, this is such a great touch. He is also moving and dancing around the stage (a little difficult last night as I mentioned there was little room) it is so good to see the whole band enjoying themselves.
There is little consolation for the lack of a Journey tour or concert here in the UK – the last time we saw them involved a trip to Chicago last August but it was Oh so worth it. But if you can't see Journey live then at least you can get the next best thing - Departure singing Journey live.

**Convention News**

£1000 has been sent to

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
North Anston
Sheffield

from their website...........................

"Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offers care and support to children with life limiting conditions who are not expected to reach adulthood, both in their own homes and at our hospice in Sheffield.

Bluebell Wood is a place filled with laughter and love. We give families the chance to relax, take a break and have fun, and we help support the whole family.

It costs £2.5 million every year to offer this support. With no statutory government funding, without the help of our supporters we simply couldn’t help all the children that we do."

A big thanks goes out to all who supported on the day.
