Welcome to JourneyRock UK
This website was initially created as a petition to encourage the UK promoters to bring Journey to the UK and Europe. Given that the band toured the UK in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, it was decided that UK and European fans might want to continue with the friendships forged through this site. We are looking forward to making 2012 another rocking year for Journey.

Miles Schon releases new EP

Guitarist Miles Schon comes from a family of talented jazz and rock musicians. He possesses extraordinary song writing and guitar playing abilities, plays with incredible feeling and soul, and is already a veteran in the music industry.
Keyboardist and vocalist Will Champlin has extensive experience producing records in Nashville which has only enhanced his already incredible music skills. Those skills are key in binding the melody that the band, churns out.
The band recently opened for KISS at Raley Field in Sacramento, CA, which produced proof in their product and a rapidly growing fan base can attest to that.
This brand new band has a blend of blues, funk, classic rock 'n roll and is ready to rock! They feature Miles Schon, son of Journey guitarist Neal Schon & Will Champlin, Son of Chicago's Bill Champlin.

Neal Schon Reveals Plans For Two New Solo Albums
As Schon told Ultimate Classic Rock during an interview this past weekend, the two albums, including one that reunites him with his former Journey bandmate, drummer Steve Smith, are very different. Schon calls the album he made with Smith “one of the most rockin’ records I’ve made.”
“I’m proud of the record, but I kind of winged it. I walked in and I didn’t have anything prepared at all. I just had an open slate with a bunch of paintbrushes [in the form of] guitars and amplifiers.”

At Last: News of Steve Perry
According to Billboard - The former Journey frontman will start work in his new studio very soon
Perry tells Billboard magazine that he's just finished building a new studio in his California home which he says will have a control room and "a tracking room about the size of Motown."
"I'm finishing that room up and I've written a whole bunch of ideas and directions, all over the map, in the last two, three years," he added, although he won't be drawn on a timescale. "I don't want it to have pressure because I'll worry about it sucking, and then what am I gonna do? I've got all this pressure... that I just don't want on me, so I've allowed myself the ability to sketch and write as I go, and I'll do it at my own pace."
In the interview, he also talks about performing live ("I'm no spring chicken") and about the possibility of reuniting with Journey for a one-off performance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, if the band were ever to be inducted.
"I'm not a big fan of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's just a personal thing, not an ego thing. I think that, honestly, Journey doesn't need to be in the Hall of Fame. With everything we accomplished...we've had our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you know? It's in the hearts of the people out there and their experiences and their memories of what we did together and how we all had the time of our lives with the music that we loved to perform and they loved to hear. I really don't want someone to qualify it any more than that."

Journey Set to Collaborate with Rascal Flatts
"If you’re a fan of both country music and classic rock, you’ll love this: Rascal Flatts and Journey are set to perform together during an upcoming taping of ‘CMT Crossroads.’
Journey frontman Arnel Pineda recently told ABS-CBN morning show Kris TV: “We will have a two-show crossroad thing with Rascal Flatts. It will happen on the third week of February in Nashville. They will sing a couple of Journey songs, then we will sing their songs.”
After a dizzying 2011 schedule that included stops in Chile, England, Northern Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands, Journey will embark on another ambitious world tour this year, hitting South America with Styx, Loverboy, Foreigner and Heart, and touring the U.S. with Loverboy.
If that’s not enough of an 80s band mashup for you, Journey’s ‘Any Way You Want It’ is currently being featured in the trailer for the upcoming film ‘Rock of Ages’ along with hits from Night Ranger and Twisted Sister."

Neal wants to do some shows with the pre-Steve Perry line-up
In an interview with Billboard, Schon revealed that he's keen to get together with the original line-up of himself, Gregg Rolie, George Tickner, Ross Valory and Aynsley Dunbar.
"I've been wanting to get together with Aynsley (drummer Aynsley Dunbar) and Ross (bassist Valory)," Schon says. "It seems like an impossibility, because I'm always on tour."
"I've been talking to Rolie (original keyboardist and singer Gregg Rolie) about it for years, that I would love to have a reunion, even if we only played a handful of shows at the House Of Blues in different cities and do nothing but our old songs. I think people would go absolutely nuts for it, just because of the history of it and the fact that it's not been heard in years. (copied from the Planet Rock article)

Exclusive for JRUK Glasgow Concert Review from journalist Sean Graham
Journey, Foreigner, Styx
Glasgow Review
By Sean Graham
As some of Rocks biggest names rolled into Glasgow for a triple header, fans from all ages strolled along to turn the SECC into a “house of rock” for one night only.
I was there first and foremost as a Journey fan but left with nothing less than total respect for the two bands who played a supporting role, even though they could both have stood alone as the headline act.
Styx took to the stage around 7 0’clock and they most certainly warmed up the crowd who were already inside the arena.
Normally when the support bands come on, most folk are still at the bar or buying merchandise outside but as this was three monster acts on one fantastic bill, most fans wanted to give Styx the reception they had earned and deserved.
You could not fail to be impressed with these guys, if it was not the energy and spinning keyboards of James “JY” Young it was the fantastic sound of the band or vocals of Tommy Shaw that got the crowd going.
Their set was short but sweet as they gave the fans a taste of what has made them so successful over the years with hits like,”Too Much Time On My Hands, Lady, Come Sail Away and Renegade,” and they were given a fantastic ovation as they left the stage and quite rightly so, they put on a great show for the fans.
Next up was Foreigner and boy oh boy, what a performance!
I had always liked anything that I heard from the band but on a live show, they were even better!
Visuals were fantastic, songs sounded great and the band gave such a high quality performance with hits such as “Double Vision, Cold as Ice, Waiting for a Girl Like You, Feels Like the First Time, Urgent, I Want to Know What Love Is? ( with the whole crowd singing along perfectly), Hot Blooded and Juke Box Hero” to create such a noise and fantastic atmosphere as Kelly Hansen moved from the stage to the crowd to feel the love and appreciation the Glasgow crowd had for them and it was enough love to fill the SECC, Armadillo and more!
You could be forgiven for thinking by the reaction of the crowd to these two bands that the gig was over ….but far from it!
The headline act, were about to enter the arena, no thrills no spills it was time for Journey to “rock” Glasgow and apart from one or two sound issues, they put on a great show.
Launching into “Separate Ways” and” Only the Young” the crowd were already eating out of the palm of Arnel’s hand.
As well as playing some of their biggest hits, the band played four new songs from their most recent album, Eclipse.
“Edge of the Moment, Tantra, Chain of Love” and the new single “City of Hope” which Jonathan Cain dedicated to our wonderful city of Glasgow!
During this Arnel chose to get up close and personnel with the fans and they enjoyed being able to do some lovin, touchin and squeezin of their new hero!
Many fans may only have seen Arnel with Journey this once but I have been lucky enough to have seen the band on four different occasions, with three different singers!
For many Steve Perry always was and always will be Journey’s “main man” but Steve and Journey have had their good times as have Steve Augeri and Jeff Scott Soto, they were all great singers in their own right and have played a part in the continuing success of Journey but they have gone their separate ways and for Journey, the future is Arnel Pineda and with Arnel, the future is bright!
As the night came to an end the band almost brought the roof off with “Don’t Stop Believin” before bringing the night to an end with,” Any Way You Want It”.
All in all a fantastic night to remember and £40 well spent…although I would not have minded a special programme or commemorative t-shirt with all three bands on from this great night!
Great idea, same again next year?
